FAQ – Frequently asked questions and answers
NANOCLEAN® is currently the only range of cleaning and disinfecting formulations on the market with a full biocidal spectrum for air conditioning evaporators, ventilation systems and most surfaces in the shortest time.
The formulations clean and disinfect in a single process, which facilitates the work of service technicians, speeds up the disinfection process and guarantees the effectiveness of disinfection at a high level.
The use of NANOCLEAN® guarantees the satisfaction of end customers, i.e. air conditioning users. DECONTAMINATION is an extensive concept involving the removal of contaminants, the destruction of biological pathogens, which includes, among other things.
the process of cleaning and disinfection. FIRST STAGE OF DECONTAMINATION CLEANING: Removal of visible contaminants, dirt from the surface/object to the extent necessary for its further decontamination stage, which is disinfection.
The cleaning process is a very important step in the decontamination process, when done correctly there is a reduction of up to 80% of microorganisms from the surface, but the removed microorganisms are still alive, If not done correctly, the cleaning process can lead to an increase in microbial contamination, for example, if you use the same cloth to clean the toilet to wipe the countertops in the kitchen you will transfer all the microorganisms from the toilet to the kitchen countertop.
It is important that cleaning products have good cleaning properties, e.g. alcohol products do not have effective cleaning properties, so use them on previously washed surfaces.
Put the dirty dishes in the spirit and see if it washes as well as the dishwashing liquid. SECOND STEP OF DECONTAMINATION DEFROSTING The goal of de-fungication is to kill fungi to a level that does not pose a health risk.
The process of decontamination is only part of the broader concept of the disinfection process.
Degreasing does not destroy other microorganisms such as viruses, bacteria, mycobacteria, spores. DISINFECTION: Disinfection is a broad process that aims to destroy microorganisms and their spores from surfaces and objects.
In order to compare disinfectants and their biocidal effects, they should be tested in accordance with European standards for chemical disinfectants and antiseptics.
These standards are included in the set of standards used for testing biocidal products, which are accepted by the Office, Registration of Medicinal Products, Medical Devices and Biocidal Products.
Depending on the degree of destruction of microorganisms, the disinfection process can be divided into three levels.
Low-level disinfection – removal and destruction of bacteria, fungi and some sensitive viruses.
Medium level disinfection – elimination of all bacteria, mycobacteria, fungi, enveloped viruses such as HIV, HBV, HCV. High level disinfection is the reduction of bacteria, fungi, mycobacteria, enveloped and non-casing viruses (the most difficult to remove Polyoviruses, Adenoviruses, Noroviruses) and spores or spore forms of bacteria. DISINFECTION WITH FULL BIOBIOCIDAL SPECTRE Disinfectants characterized by full biocidal spectrum, eliminate all microorganisms: bacteria, fungi, all viruses*, mycobacteria and spores *Virucidal efficacy is defined by the EN14476 standard If a biocidal product removes the most difficult viruses Polyoviruses, Adenoviruses, Noroviruses then according to European standards for chemical disinfectants it is assumed to remove all other viruses

NANOCLEAN® AIR liquids are characterized by a full biocidal spectrum, which means that they have a microbicidal effect on all pathogenic microorganisms, ie.
viruses, bacteria, fungi, mycobacteria and spores.
Tests confirming the activity of NANOCLEAN® AIR preparations were carried out on obligatory test organisms included in the European standard EN 14885 on chemical disinfectants and antiseptics.
Full virucidal, bactericidal, fungicidal, mycobactericidal and sporicidal activity has also been confirmed by the Office, Registration of Medicinal Products, Medical Devices and Biocidal Products. NANOCLEAN® AIR liquids eliminate all viruses, if the biocidal product removes the viruses Polio, Adeno, Noro then, according to European standards for chemical disinfectants, it is assumed that it removes all other viruses, for example.
SARS-CoV-2 (causing COVID-19 disease) .

- In the form of spray foam with 2 nozzles for use without additional equipment
Standard disinfection should take a minimum of 1 minute to remove Legionella Pneumophila, a minimum of 5 minutes for bacteria, viruses, spores, mycobacteria and some fungi, and 15 minutes for full biocidal spectrum.
We recommend disinfection at 15 minutes for full effectiveness.
See the TDS technical data sheet for full information.
The NANOCLEAN® method involves pressure cleaning and disinfection of evaporators using specially designed lances depending on access to the evaporators and the design of the vehicle’s HVAC system.
The dust filter must be removed to allow direct access to the evaporator for the cleaning lance.
Sometimes, depending on the type of vehicle, this requires the removal of additional parts, such as: the fan (which we also recommend cleaning), sensors, blower resistor or inspection hole.
Included in the AC-7001 and AC7002 kit is an INOX AC45 metal lance with directional nozzles, which we slide into the evaporator chamber, the lance can be freely bent and adjusted to fit the duct of the HVAC system.
We clean the evaporator under pressure with NANOCLEAN® AIR and leave it for 15 minutes to fully disinfect the evaporator.
During this time, the fluid should drain under the car through the drain channel and unclog the entire system.
If the evaporator is inaccessible, we recommend using a flexible Nylon AC160 lance with a 360° nozzle, which is also inserted into the evaporator chamber.
NOTE: We always recommend blowing out all vents (grilles) in the cockpit after removing the cabin filter and before the process of cleaning and disinfecting the evaporator and car interior.
Ozonation does not clean the evaporator of dust and dirt, it only oxidizes the surface.
Thus, it leaves contaminants that become moist when using the air conditioner and create the perfect conditions for the growth of microorganisms, bacteria and fungi responsible for unpleasant air conditioning odors.
Therefore, the effect of ozonation without mechanical cleaning of the evaporator is short-lived and ineffective.
What’s more, OZON has an oxidizing effect on vehicle electronics, resulting in problems with electronic components over time.
Definitely yes.
Disinfection of air conditioning evaporators by NANOCLEAN® AIR and fogging the car with NANOCLEAN® AIR dry mist guarantees disinfection of the entire vehicle with full biocidal spectrum in 15 minutes.
This is the fastest and most effective method of vehicle disinfection and much safer than ozonation.
In addition, the NANOCLEAN® AIR method does not require prolonged ventilation (5 minutes is enough) and leaves a pleasant smell in the car.
Most car services that use the NANOCLEAN® AIR system have stopped using ozonators.
NANOCLEAN® AIR ready-to-use formulation is safer for service technicians than other fluids on the market or ozonation, as it has no hazardous markings.
NANOCLEAN® AIR does not contain toxic or mutagenic substances.
It does not cause irritation, allergies or burns.
It does not contain alcohol.
It is non-flammable.
It has a pleasant citrus scent and leaves a feeling of fresh air inside the car.
NANOCLEAN® AIR formulations are non-flammable water-based, so they are safer to store.
They significantly reduce the risk of fire compared to alcohol-based products and other flammable solvents used in air conditioning disinfection.
NANOCLEAN® AIR should be stored in its original packaging, at 5-40°C in a dry place away from sunlight.
There is considerable dust on the roads in Poland, so we recommend pressure cleaning the evaporator with a NANOCLEAN® lance at least once a year or every 40,000km.
If you use NANOCLEAN® spray foam for cleaning and disinfection, we recommend repeating the process every 6 months or every 20,000km.
If the vehicle moves systematically in a dusty environment then we recommend cleaning and disinfecting the evaporator more frequently.
According to the art of decontamination, the surface must be washed first, so we have to get to the evaporator and, using a pressure lance, clean it directly the evaporator.
Most often it is enough to remove the cabin filter, in some cases it will be necessary to remove the blower fan, temperature sensor, resistor or other part of the HVAC system.
Often you can find plugged inspection holes, in any case there is an opportunity to perform cleaning, de-fumigation and disinfection of the evaporator in a proper way.
In the most extreme case for professionals – you can drill a small service hole with a short drill bit in the evaporator chamber and plug it after disinfection.
In practice, it often only takes an additional 10 minutes to find direct access to the evaporator, which initially could not be reached.
An endoscopic camera becomes extremely useful.
NANOCLEAN® Dry Fog fogging involves letting a mist sprayed by a special head attached to the NANOCLEAN® FUMI-1 gun or using the MC-8871F NANOCLEAN® GUN FUMI fogging gun into the car or room.
We assume a capacity of approx.
50ml per minute per 15m3.
In practice, the car is fogged about 30 seconds and closed tightly for a period of 15 minutes for full disinfection and removal of unpleasant odors inside.
You can also run the cabin blower on the lowest speed, set the air supply to the upper part of the cabin, set the grilles towards the headliner and the blower circuit internally, thus disinfecting the air ducts.
NOTE: When fogging, ensure the distance from the fogging nozzle to the surface is at least 1.5 meters, preferably 2 meters, to ensure a dry surface.
Reducing the distance from the nozzle to the surface below 2 meters may cause the surface to become wet and the fog to settle prematurely.
In practice, we recommend fogging the car through the rear door or trunk lid to ensure a distance to the surface of at least 1.5 meters.
If during fogging with NANOCLEAN® AIR, using a gun with a FUMI-1 head, we maintain a distance of >1.5 meters from the nozzle to the surface, and the time of fogging the car, depending on its size, will not be longer than 30-60 seconds, the surfaces will remain dry.
In practice, we accept the time of fogging the car 30-60 seconds, to achieve the effect of fog in the vehicle.
If the surface became wet during fogging, wait for it to dry and wipe it with a damp cloth with fibra water.
The product is safe for the surface.
(a) Disinfection and removal of odors inside cars, public vehicles.
(b) Disinfection of public buildings, office spaces, halls, sanitary facilities, living quarters.
(c) Disinfection of ventilation systems, HVAC, recuperators, etc.
We use NANOCLEAN® AIR liquid for evaporators and fogging the interior of the vehicle. a) We take 0.5-1L of liquid per evaporator. In practice, in new or regularly serviced cars, 500 ml of liquid is sufficient, while in the case of problems with air conditioning odors or in the case of old fungus-ridden and very dirty evaporators, we recommend using 1L of liquid, e.g.: vehicles that have not been serviced for a long time or drive in a dusty environment, e.g.: construction sites, gravel pits, etc.). b) For fogging the interior of the vehicle, we accept 50ml of working liquid per 1 minute of fogging with the NANOCLEAN® FUMI-1 DRY Mist head. In practice, it is enough to fog no more than 1 minute to get the effect of fog in the car. Then close the car for 15 minutes to disinfect the interior of the vehicle.
According to the art, in order to perform air conditioning disinfection, the evaporator must first be cleaned and disinfected.
Disinfection of a dirty surface is ineffective or short-lived.
An unclean evaporator is a habitat for dust, which with moisture creates ideal conditions for the growth of fungi and bacteria and the formation of biofilm.
In the case of clean evaporators in new cars, you can only perform the fogging process with the blower on at minimum speed.
In addition, turn on the ventilation closed circuit and set all the vents up.
We recommend applying Dry Fog for about 30-60 seconds through the rear door, nozzle pointing down under the rear seat or through the rear tailgate.
If the blowing from the fan is too strong, then turn off the blower and repeat the fogging for 30-60 seconds.
NANOCLEAN ® AIR concentrate is used with water at a concentration of 5% (1:20), i.e., for example: concentrate 50ml + 950ml water = 1Liter of liquid ready to use 5%.
Mix NANOCLEAN® AIR concentrate with water at a concentration of 5% according to the table below: | ||||||||||
Concentration of formulation [%]. | Dilution ratio | Amount of working solution GDU 5%: | 0.5 L | 1 L | 5 L | 10 L | 20 L | 25 L | 100 L | 200 L |
5% | 1 : 20 | Amount of concentrate: | 25 ml | 50 ml | 250 ml | 500 ml | 1000 ml | 1250 ml | 5 L | 10 L |
We do not need to use distilled water, we can also use tap water to dilute NANOCLEAN® AIR concentrate.
The solution prepared in this way can be used immediately to disinfect evaporators.
NANOCLEAN® AIR preparations have a shelf life of 3 years from the date of manufacture indicated on the product label.
Also, the working solution prepared from the concentrate has the same shelf life as the concentrate from which it was prepared.
NANOCLEAN® liquids are compatible with most surfaces (fabrics, leather, plastics, rubbers, metals) if used according to the instructions.
Note: We always recommend a pre-test on an invisible surface to check full compatibility with the surface before using the product on the entire surface.

The 3-step car disinfection process consists of 3 processes to disinfect the car’s air conditioning and HVAC system including disinfecting the car’s interior and removing bad odors in the car: STEP 1: Cleaning and disinfecting the evaporator in the car and HVAC system:
1) Pull out the dust filter in the cabin or at the windshield
2) Blow out with compressed air all vents and ducts in the cockpit of the HVAC system
3) Clean and disinfect the car’s evaporator with a NANOCLEAN® INOX AC45 pressure lance and NANOCLEAN® AIR or NANOCLEAN®AIRaerosol foam 4) After 5 minutes , install the cabin filter in the car STEP 2: Disinfect the air ducts and the interior of the car and remove odors in the car:
1) Turn on the blower to the minimum speed, cold air, closed circuit
2) Set the air blower towards the windshield and passengers in the upper part of the cabin, the air vents also set upwards
3) With the closed-circuit fan on, fog the interior of the vehicle for 60 seconds by directing the gun with the Dry Fog head behind the rear seat into the floor or from the trunk side toward the cockpit.
Ensure the distance of the gun head from the surface is at least 1.5m to eliminate the risk of wetting the surface.
When you see fog inside the car, stop fogging (about 60 seconds).
4) Close all the doors so that the car is tightly closed.
5) Wait 5 minutes for the biocidal fog to work inside the car in a closed circuit. STEP 3: Disinfect the interior of the car and remove upholstery odors:
1) Turn off the car’s ignition, blower and close the car tightly
2) Fog the interior of the car for 60 seconds through the open tailgate or rear door, pointing the fogging gun towards the interior of the car
3) Point the gun so that the distance between the dry fog head and the surface in the car is at least 1.5m to prevent wetting of the disinfected surface
4) After 1 minute of fogging, the dry mist should be visible inside the car and you should stop fogging and close the car tightly.
5) Leave the car tightly closed for at least 15 minutes.
6) After 15 minutes of fogging in the car, ventilate the car and set the blower to the highest speed for 3-5 minutes so that the car is ventilated and ready to drive.
