FAQ – Frequently asked questions and answers
NANOCLEAN® is currently the only range of full spectrum disinfectants on the market for air conditioning evaporators, ventilation systems and most surfaces, acting in the shortest possible time. These products clean and disinfect in a single process, which makes the work of service technicians easier, speeds up the disinfection process and guarantees a high level of disinfection efficiency. The use of NANOCLEAN®AIR guarantees the satisfaction of end customers, i.e. air conditioning users.
DECONTAMINATION
This is a broad term for the removal of contaminants, the destruction of biological pathogens and includes cleaning and disinfection processes.
FIRST STAGE OF DECONTAMINATION
CLEANING:
Removal of visible contamination, dirt from the surface/object to the extent necessary for its further decontamination stage, i.e. disinfection. The cleaning process is a very important step in the decontamination process, when done correctly it reduces up to 80% of microorganisms from the surface, but the removed microorganisms are still viable. An improperly executed cleaning process can lead to increased microbial contamination, e.g. if you use the same cloth for cleaning your toilet to wipe your kitchen countertop, you will transfer all the microbes from the toilet to your kitchen countertop.
It is important that the cleaning preparations have good washing properties, e.g. alcoholic preparations do not have effective cleaning properties, so they should be used on previously washed surfaces. Put your dirty dishes in spirit and see if it washes as well as washing up liquid.
SECOND STAGE OF DECONTAMINATION
FUMIGATION
The aim of fumigation is to kill fungi to a level that will not pose any health risk. The fumigation process is only part of the broader concept of the disinfection process. Fumigation will not destroy other microorganisms such as viruses, bacteria, mycobacteria, spores.
DISINFECTION:
Disinfection is a broad process that aims to destroy microorganisms and their spores from surfaces and objects.
To be able to compare disinfectants and their biocidal effects, they should be tested according to European standards for chemical disinfectants and antiseptics. These standards are included in a set of standards used for testing biocidal products that are accepted by the Office for Registration of Medicinal Products, Medical Devices and Biocidal Products.
Depending on the degree of destruction of microorganisms, the disinfection process can be divided into three levels.
Low-level disinfection – removing and destroying bacteria, fungi and certain sensitive viruses.
High-level disinfection reduces bacteria, fungi, mycobacteria, enveloped viruses (HIV, HBV, HCV, SARS-COV-2) and non-enveloped viruses (most difficult to remove: Polioviruses, Adenoviruses, Noroviruses) and bacterial spores.
FULL SPECTRUM BIOCIDAL DISINFECTION
Disinfectants with full biocidal spectrum, eliminating all microorganisms: bacteria, fungi, all viruses*, mycobacteria and spores
*Virucidal efficacy is defined by the standard EN14476
If the biocidal product removes the most difficult viruses Polyoviruses, Adenoviruses, Noroviruses, then according to European standards for chemical disinfectants it shall be assumed that all other viruses are removed as well.
The NANOCLEAN® AIR product range has been developed with the health and safety of each air conditioning user at home, office, car, factory, school…. NANOCLEAN® AIR is the only ALL IN ONE product range on the market for air conditioning and ventilation, vehicle servicing and home air conditioning users. The products are the only ones on the market that in a single process: clean, fumigate, disinfect with a full spectrum of action and thus effectively freshen up: AC evaporators, air handling units, air coolers, heat exchangers, ventilation ducts, fan coils, recuperators, air distribution ducts for heat pumps, domestic air conditioners, HVAC equipment.
It effectively removes all pollutants that can affect the quality of the air itself. Thanks to its effective cleaning and high-level disinfection, NANOCLEAN® AIR leaves a refreshing fragrance for longer.
NANOCLEAN® AIR fluids are characterised by a full biocidal spectrum, which means that they have a microbicidal effect on all pathogenic microorganisms, i.e. viruses, bacteria, fungi, mycobacteria and spores. Tests to confirm the performance of NANOCLEAN® AIR have been carried out on obligatory test organisms included in the European Standard EN 14885 on chemical disinfectants and antiseptics. The full virucidal, bactericidal, fungicidal, mycobactericidal and sporicidal action has also been confirmed by the relevant national Offices for Registration of Medicinal Products, Medical Devices and Biocidal Products.
NANOCLEAN® AIR fluids eliminate all viruses; if a biocidal product eliminates the viruses Polio, Adeno and Noro, it is assumed that it eliminates all other viruses, e.g. SARS-CoV-2 (causing COVID-19), in accordance with European standards for chemical disinfectants.
The biocidal effectiveness is confirmed by tests according to European EN standards:

NANOCLEAN® AIR is available in the following forms:
- convenient fluid Ready-To-Use,
- economical fluid in the form of a concentrate used with water at a concentration of 5%
- aerosol foam with 2 nozzles for use without additional equipment:
(high foam version – flammable
low foam version – not flammable)
As a standard, disinfection should take a minimum of 1 minute to remove Legionella Pneumophila, a minimum of 5 minutes for bacteria, viruses, spores, mycobacteria and some fungi and 15 minutes for the full biocidal spectrum. We recommend a disinfection time of 15 minutes for full effectiveness.

The NANOCLEAN® method consists of pressure cleaning and disinfecting evaporators using specially designed lances depending on access to the units and the design of the vehicle’s HVAC system. Pull out the dust filter to allow direct access to the evaporator for the cleaning lance. Sometimes, depending on the type of vehicle, this requires the removal of additional parts, e.g.: the fan (which we also recommend cleaning), sensors, the blower resistor or the inspection cover. The metal lance AC-99INOX with directional nozzles is inserted into the evaporator chamber, the lance can be bent and adjusted to the duct of the HVAC system. Clean the evaporator under pressure with NANOCLEAN® AIR and leave for 15 minutes to fully disinfect the evaporator. During this time, the fluid should drain under the car through the drain channel and unclog the entire system. In case of no access to the evaporator, we recommend the use of flexible Nylon Lance AC-99NYLON with 360° nozzle, which is also introduced into the evaporator chamber.
Ozonation will not clean the evaporator of dust and dirt, it only oxidises the surface. Thus, it leaves impurities which, when your air conditioning is used, become moist and create the perfect conditions for the growth of microorganisms, bacteria and fungi responsible for unpleasant smells from your AC. Therefore, the effect of ozone treatment without mechanical cleaning of the evaporator is short lasting and ineffective. Furthermore, the ozone has an oxidising effect on electronics in vehicles, which over time results in problems with electronic components. In addition, 99% of the ozonators currently on the market do not have any tests proving their effectiveness.
Definitely yes. NANOCLEAN® AIR air conditioning evaporator disinfection and NANOCLEAN® AIR dry mist car fogging guarantee vehicle-wide disinfection with full biocidal spectrum in 15 minutes. It is the fastest and most effective method of disinfecting a vehicle and much safer than ozonation. In addition, the NANOCLEAN® AIR method will not require prolonged ventilation (5 minutes is sufficient) and leaves a pleasant fragrance in your car. Most of the car service centres that use the NANOCLEAN® AIR system have stopped using ozonators.
The Ready-To-Use NANOCLEAN® AIR product is safer for service technicians than other commercially available fluids or ozone treatment because it has no hazardous markings. NANOCLEAN® AIR contains no toxic or mutagenic substances. It does not cause irritation, allergies or burns. It is not alcohol-based. It is non-flammable. It has a pleasant citrus fragrance and leaves a feeling of fresh air inside the car.
NANOCLEAN® AIR agents are non-flammable, water-based, and are therefore safer to store. They significantly reduce the risk of fire compared to alcohol-based products and other flammable solvents used in AC disinfection. Store NANOCLEAN® AIR in its original packaging, at temperatures between 5-35°C in a dry place away from sunlight.
We recommend pressure cleaning for vehicle AC evaporators with a NANOCLEAN® Lance twice a year or every 20 000 km.
We recommend cleaning and disinfecting indoor air conditioners twice a year.
NANOCLEAN® Dry Mist Fogging consists of spraying the interior of your car or interior with mist atomised by a special head attached to the AC-99FUMI gun. We assume a capacity of approx. 50ml per minute for 15m3. In practice, the car is fogged for about 30 seconds and sealed for 15 minutes to fully disinfect and remove unpleasant odours inside. You can also run the cabin blower on the lowest speed, set the air supply to the upper part of the cabin, set the grilles towards the headliner and the blower circuit to internal, thus disinfecting the ventilation ducts. CAUTION: When fogging, ensure a distance from the fogging nozzle to the surface of more than 1.5 metres to ensure a dry surface. Reducing the distance from the nozzle to the surface to less than 2 m may cause wetting of the surface and premature settling of fog. In practice, we recommend fogging the car through the rear door or boot lid.
- Disinfection and odour removal inside private cars, public vehicles.
- Disinfection of public buildings, offices, halls, sanitary facilities, residential premises, warehouses, factories…

Use NANOCLEAN® AIR concentrate with water at a concentration of 5% (1:20), i.e
e.g.: 50ml concentrate + 950ml water = 1Litre of ready to use 5% fluid.
You don’t have to use distilled water, you can also use tap water to dilute the NANOCLEAN® AIR Concentrate. This solution can be used immediately to disinfect evaporators.
NANOCLEAN® AIR preparations have a shelf life of 3 years from the date of manufacture indicated on the product label. The working solution made from the concentrate also has the same shelf life as the concentrate from which it was prepared
